Hello from the now not so sunny Holland

Last newsletter I said it was summer here; 30 degrees celsius and sunny. Well, it seems I shouldn’t have said it out loud. It is now only 12 degrees and has rained the whole day. Can’t say we don’t have variations in the weather here. LoL.

It’s is all over the place. Sun, rain, we even had some hail last weekend. Further down south there were flash floods with water running through the streets. Thankfully we were spared that here.
Whatever the weather, I can always find time to read a good book. Whether the excuse is to get out of the rain, or it’s just too warm to do anything other than sit down with a fantastic story.

This newsletter is full of great books that can help you pass the time.
And why don’t you scroll down to the giveaways where you can win e-readers or books from well known authors.

I’m going to try something new. In the first image you see below, you can win an e-reader. It is a review giveaway. Please let me know whether you would like to see more of these competitions and giveaways.

As I am looking for reviews for my book, Warmonger, I am delighted to have joined Book Luver’s Summer Review Giveaway. You can get a huge list of books to read and review (if you like them) just by popping over to the giveaway by clicking on the image below.
And any readers who share the link with their reader friends and followers also have the chance of winning an Amazon voucher to buy the books on your wish list. A stack of books to download and read plus a voucher to get even more books! What more could you want?
Here are some more great books from friends.

A mysterious fae-shifter. A battle royale. A chance of a lifetime.
I’ve always been different. Awkward. Horrible at magic. A square peg shoved into a round hole.
But when I arrive in Faerie, I have a chance to start over, to help people who have it worse than me, and to finally get to know my father—the King of Lyonesse.
In Faerie I have friends and a fae guard who fancies me. Crazily enough, for once in my life my bloody magic is cooperating.

There’s one hitch.

To get what I want most, I have to fight—gladiator style—and I must win.
The others are infinitely more powerful than me and a thousand times more charming. Cunning and competitive to boot. And they all want to be tops too. But when I really want something, I’ve never been one to give up.
And I won’t start now.

I gave my soul to save my friend. What can I trade to save myself?

Carrying souls to heaven is no longer news to Laney, but finding a way out of the desperate bargain she struck with Shadowbringer Cas is bad news—on a daily basis. While she is still figuring out her relationship with Leon, the darkness of Cas’s claim gradually pulls her under.
As Laney and Leon desperately search for a way out of Laney’s bargain, Gran’s old stories finally shed some light into the mysteries she left behind.
Laney must face that she can run from Cas all she wants but there will be a day when she belongs to him. Not even Leon can change that.

You don’t rule fate. Fate rules you. All you can do is fight to survive.

My life has become one huge black hole.
I don’t know who I am now. And I sure as hell don’t remember who I was. But I intend to find out. I mean, the truth has to be out there somewhere…doesn’t it?
The thing is, the truth has a way of slapping you in the face. And this time it’s in the shape of Connor Rawson. This beast of a man invades my father’s home, and after the bullets have stopped flying, tells me he has come for me; that I am his.
I don’t know what to believe, but I do know my body knows what it wants, and it’s not the man I’m supposed to marry.
Despite the fact that Connor exudes enough power to make me quake, and has arrogance by the bucket load, he also wants to save me. Now I just need to find out what it is he wants to save me from. The past I can’t remember? Or something far more sinister and dangerous?

Now I find out that evil fights to invade the world I live in. But will I be the one who saves us, or will I rain destruction down on everyone I love?

Wrath consumes him as the dark does the night… Until she rises. But can she chase away his darkness?

Most would say the “sweet” and “quiet” Signorina Arabella Belmonte has lived a quiet life as a young noblewoman in her family’s castello. But little do they know she pens treatises criticizing the realm’s warmongers… and now there’s a price on her head. As she struggles to hide her seditious activities, a chance encounter with a unicorn leaves her with four hooves and a horn of her own—and a form she can’t control. The dark-elf queen has offered her a chance to acquire that control… if Bella can find the unicorn who turned her.
Prince Dhuro of Nightbloom has never met a problem he couldn’t solve with his fists—that is, until he fought his sister for a place in the army’s elite forces and lost. When the light-elves defeated them and his father was executed, Dhuro’s inner demons laid claim to the whole of him. Now Immortal beasts are growing in power and threatening his people.
Dhuro has a chance to help his people win, but his mother, the queen, sends him on a fool’s errand instead—helping a human newly turned unicorn find her sire, and asking the impossible: whether the Elder of the pacifistic unicorns will stand with them against the beasts ravaging his people. Making things worse, Bella challenges his every decision, argues with him, infuriates him… until beneath the full moon, she shifts to her human form… and enchants him.
A war is raging, Dhuro must marry for political advantage, and only Bella’s sire can help her… And when the bounty hunters hunting her find them, Dhuro and Bella’s world views collide like life and death. But can he be the answer to helping her control her form, and can she chase away his darkness? Can they find a way to be together and fight the war threatening to devour the land… or will it swallow them too?

When people say to kill them with kindness, I don’t think they mean literally…

Witness to one murder in New York, I’d been relocated to Texas of all places. As I try to settle into a routine, I’m confronted with danger yet again when my friend is assaulted and her daughter needs be protected. The cops aren’t on our side and running away isn’t an option.
How can we stay alive when all of the secrets and lies threaten to overwhelm us?
Paris Morgan writes a gripping psychological thriller that will have you racing towards the last page only to realize nothing is as it seems. Witness Protection is the first book in the Secrets and Lies series where each book dishes up a spine-tingling twist that you won’t see coming.

With evil rising, every secret can change the course of history.
The curse is broken. The Fae are free. And so is Gandrett—at least to walk away from the palace at Lei’Vreah, from the King of Fae who she supposedly is in love with, from the prince who almost died in her arms.
Her friends are out there, needing her help. Mckenzie who is struggling at the Phornian court, and Addie, for who any help might come too late. And her brother—
When Gandrett returns to Everrun in the hope of breaking free from the Order at last, she isn’t prepared for the mission the Meister sends her on—or for what it will cost her.
At least she has a new friend who is ready to fight and die at her side. If only it weren’t for the Fae prince she left behind in Ulfray, and the promise he made, she would sleep better—and think better. But something is changing within Gandrett, and there is no denying that eventually, it may cost her everything.

Kissed by the moon…
In trouble with her mother, fledgling witch Gabby Stine is sent to visit her Aunt Diana. She discovers a whole new world at Moon Called, an antique shop specializing in cursed objects. When an antiquity lands in the shop and promptly disappears, disturbing events point to a threat that will test her, sideways magic and all. Blood vows and witchcraft may hold the key, but the ultimate power might just be in the darkest recesses of her heart.

A werewolf unleashed…
Carson Maddox is a wolf on a mission. When two of his friends and then his sister go missing, he is ready to do whatever is necessary to find them. A pending war with the vampires looms in the distance but a blacker danger lies closer to home. Will the alluring teenage witch at the antique shop be his downfall, or his salvation?

A triumvirate of blood and fire…
Heir to the throne of vampires, Viktor Romany has a problem. Awakened from sleep to discover his father murdered and the current Regent suspect, he finds the family vault is missing an amulet never meant to see the light of day. The treaty with the wolves in tatters, he must act quickly before the girl who haunted his dreams is swept into an ancient curse that will destroy them all.
