Just a short mail today, but packed with loads and loads of great books for tiny prices.
load up your e-reader with these great stories and enjoy a good read during the long summer evenings
The picture at the top of the mail is the cover of a new book that I am writing for a paranormal horror box set called Soul’s Day. All of the stories center around Halloween.
The story is very creepy, even the name sounds scary: DRAINED.
My fantastic design studio came up with the image above. I’d love to hear what you think of it?
Here’s the first chapter of the book. just to whet your appetite.
The body had fallen in on itself like a smashed egg shell.
The eyes were hardly visible in the deep black sockets; the small part that was distinguishable was dark red with congealed blood. There was no iris, no colour, other than the bloody mass.
Her cheeks were gone, the lips pulled up tight over yellowish teeth in a permanent grimace of extreme terror and pain. Her skin looked more like ancient parchment; the hue a sickly grey mixed with vomit yellow and dark brown splotches that remarkably seemed to be growing. Small ripples under the thin husk gave the appearance of insects feeding on the last remnants of whatever flesh might still be there. You almost expected maggots or scarabs to emerge from the corner of the body’s parched lips. Or maybe even from the eye sockets. It strongly resembled a mummie from the Egyptian pyramids.
The arms were shrivelled in a rigid pose in front of her concave chest, indicative of the agony the woman suffered before and during her extended death. Her legs were pulled up in an almost fetal position, their form nothing more than thin match sticks.

Yesterday, Marg had been an exceptional beauty. Six foot, a figure to die for, long beautifully formed legs that seemed endless, flowing blond hair and peach soft skin; she was destined to dazzle the judges at the Miss World pageant in less than a week

Now, there was nothing left.

This was a bad way to die

Resurrected into present-day New York, Nadira Holden is asked to save the world … again. She achieved legendary status when she gave her life to protect humans from demons. To her, it was yesterday. To the rest of the world, it was twenty years ago. Understandably, Nadira is adrift.

People have made peace with demons, worshipping them like celebrities. No one wants to believe that the beautiful creatures who brought magic to mankind could be causing the disappearance of so many people. Nadira wonders if this unfamiliar world is worth saving. Then her father goes missing, and she refuses to play nice. Gloves off. She has to do what she does best. Fight.

Stay away from Court Fae…

My dad drilled that into our Dark Fae tribe, trapping us in the forest. Court Fae are deadly, cruel, and believe that they’re fated to mate for life.

But I’m also Lord Spring: a rebel with something dangerous and magical growing inside me…

Now I’m a prisoner in a supernatural jail with my two hot and protective fae friends, held captive because I rebelled against the Queen. They even kidnapped the beautiful shifters. How can I escape this hellhole with its trials, executions, and classes with blood-thirsty vampires, werewolves, and witches?

Go for counseling with the sexy succubus, my friends said. It couldn’t be worse than dying, right?

Yet love could be deadlier than anything else in this reform school. Why choose just one bond when all are so temptingly hot? Yet will these new loves and friendships be enough to fight the system and the Court Fae?

If I fail to graduate…

…I die.
