How are you holding up in these trying times?
I cannot imagine how difficult it must be for many people.
Personally, I have it easy. I can work from home, my regular job, and have a steady income. I have a lot of space around my house so that I can go outside and still keep to the regulations and I have loads of animals around me to keep me company.
Most of you are not so fortunate. The majority of my readers live in the US and the UK. Both countries are hit much more than we are here in Holland. I sincerely hope that you are doing well and that your future looks good. Please hang in there, even if it is very difficult. I really believe that we can beat this if we all work together.
I understand that it is difficult to stay at home when your income and your family’s wellbeing depends on it. When you have a business that is your life and it’s now in danger. And it can’t be easy to keep children busy and content when they can’t go out to pay or see their friends. There are also many people who are alone and feeling lonely now that they cannot mingle with anyone.
I feel for you.
I hope that this pandemic takes a turn for the best and we are able to get to the new normal.
New normal?
Yes, because I don’t think that every thing will go back to how it was before Corvid. Too much has happened. But the new normal just might be a better one. One of the positives that have come out of this terrible illness is the way that people are much more aware of each other. Here in Holland, we appreciate each other more. Many people are taking care of their neighbours. More are helping out and volunteering to assist those who are suffering. We are much more aware of all of the people who keep our world running. The ones we have taken for granted for so long. The health workers, but also the people who pick up all our garbage, the supermarket employees, the postal workers, and many many more.
Here’s to all of you. Thank you. Thank you very much.
I hope that we keep that appreciation after the pandemic. These people deserve our appreciation.
