We’re all still stuck in the lockdown.
Here in Holland we are actually quite lucky.
We can still go out for the necessary shopping, though most shops are closed, for exercise and things like that. Team sports and gyms have been closed. There’s no going out to a restaurant, though takeaways are still possible. The food delivery companies are doing unbelievably well and so are the web shops. Regrettably the other shops, restaurants and bars are all in dire straights. Events are cancelled, even the Keukenhof, the yearly celebration of Tulips, has decided not to open their doors.
It looks as though the measures are working to at least contain the virus and make sure that the hospitals are not completely overwhelmed. But still, there is a lot of sorrow and loss. Too many people are dying. Too many people are alone, not able to visit their loved ones. Let’s hope that things take a turn for the better and a cure is found quickly. I hope that you are healthy and safe. Please stay that way and follow the rules that have been set out. They are there for a reason. To keep us all alive.
Hang in there, focus on the good things and maybe even read a book.
