Actually, sometimes it feels like it’s been one of those days all year.

Sure, the year has just begun, so it’s all relative. But hey, the start is not exactly what I expected. Stupid things like the central heating that went on the blink–that makes you appreciate it when it does work. I had a very small surgery at the end of 2018 with restrictions that I have absolutely no patience with. A stupid black eye because of a really silly accident while taking the Christmas decorations down, (all my own fault) and more of these kind of very inconsequential things. So nothing really to moan about. Hmmm, oeps. Sorry.
On a more serious note, I had to say goodby to my cat Bonnie.
She was seventeen and a half years old–which is very old for a Main Coon–but I would gladly have made it at least twenty. She was quite the character. The smallest here in the house with the biggest personality; a force to be reckoned with. I love how such a small person can have such a massive effect. (yes, i said ‘person’)
One of your responsibilities if you take on the commitment of an animal–in my opinion–is that you offer it a dignified and peaceful end of life when the time comes. And, as difficult as that was, that’s what happened. It did make me contemplate how difficult it is to decide when to actually end a life. Even if I didn’t really have a choice, that’s not how it felt.
In my books death is a frequent topic. People die, others–including our heros–kill. I write it quite easily, but that’s the difference between writing about it and actually having to make that decision. It is humbling. I will remember that next time I write a bloody scene.
Don’t worry, I’m not going to get all mushy and soft in the books.:-)

Bonnie was a muse of sorts. She will be missed.

I wanted to share a photo of her.

Ok, I know that this is all a bit sentimental for all you non-cat lovers.

No worries, just carry on reading and pick up some of these great books.

TEETH, THE FIRST BITE

CHELE COOKE

Spencer’s life began after his death. Being a vampire is better than any teen flick made it out to be. After all, what’s not to like? He’s stronger, faster, and deadlier than any predator. He has a job, a home, and he’ll be young and pretty forever.

When Thomas wakes up in the throws of transitioning into one of them, Spencer is assigned to train the newly sired vampire. He thinks it’ll be fun, but it could turn the afterlife upside down for everyone, even the people Spencer didn’t know existed.

Spencer is about to learn that the rules he has been abiding by since his death are all lies. And he must help Thomas adjust to his new life before they are turned from predator to prey.

The first book in the TEETH dark paranormal vampire series, TEETH: THE FIRST BITE is a deviant and humorous paranormal thriller novel.
