Time flies as they say. But at the moment it seems as though it has jet propulsion.

I mean, time always goes fast, especially if you are having fun, but the past few months it seems to be in overdrive. Every day goes so fast and the list of things I have to do becomes longer and longer 🙂
I guess it’s the same for everyone.

Juggling a writing career with a fulltime job and a menagerie of animals is a challenge any day. Add a lot of hours travelling to the mix, and it gets difficult. Or does it? I travel by train to my regular job. Not because I like the train, but because it offers me the chance to write more. A two hour trip (one way) gives me ample time to get out the laptop and force those writing juices to start flowing. Not an easy task early in the morning, I must add. Once I start, I find that I’m even sorry that I’ve arrived at my final destination. I get so caught up in the stories that I almost forget to get off the train.

Writing takes time. Not just getting the words down, also the research, the editing and the endless changes that I make. My characters travel the world. I don’t. So I need to research all the wonderful places they go to, and the things they can do there, to make it all semi-believable. (shapeshifting is still stretching reality, so that part is not exactly believable) So research takes up a lot of my time. As many parents will concur, anything as simple as finding a name for my “children”– my characters– is a chore too. Not everyone in the books can be called John or Richard or Betty. I need some variations. Ok, I didn’t make it easy for myself that the main protagonist changes names like I change clothes. But well, if it was easy, it wouldn’t be worth doing. A handy trick I have for names is watching the endless credits at the end of films. They can be quite inspiring.

So, anyway. i’m doing my best to get the new book written and out to you a.s.a.p. I also have another in my head, a novella about Azazel. All of you who read The Beast Inside know who he is. That book will tell you why.

Here are some books to read in the meantime.

If you are not familiar with my writing yet, you may want to get Warmonger first. This is the prequel to the Primal Series and permanently free on Instafreebie or my site (click the button above).

Here are some other books that caught my eye and a few competitions to stock up the virtual book shelf with.

Some think the City of Jade Spires is a utopia. It very much isn’t.
Holly Drake is in prison for defending herself from a murderer. That’s the kind of corruption thriving in the city where evidence is destroyed and the innocent go to jail.

But everything’s about to change.
Someone exonerates Holly and she walks free. She has no idea who. Or why. But they have a job for her. Steal back the Eye of the Colossus, a priceless jewel. It’s about to be moved off-planet, and when that happens, the trail will go cold.

Out of prison with no other work on the horizon, the job is a gift. If only she knew how to pull off a heist. The clock is ticking. If she can assemble a team and pretend like she knows how to do this, maybe she can fake it long enough to do a job better suited to a master-thief. Why Holly? Who’s pulling her strings? And just how far across the moon system will she have to go to finish the job?

This is Holly Drake. Someone tried to kill her once. She survived. This time, she’ll conquer or die trying.

The Eye of the Colossus features a snarky, strong, bad ass heroine on her way from the bottom of her game to the top.
If you don’t like seeing a woman experience self-doubt, overcome obstacles, and then dominate, this book is not for you.
